Joining Springwood High School

It is our intention to make all our new starters feel relaxed and well informed on starting with us. During June you will receive a letter informing you of which House your child/ren will be in as well as a meeting time. These meetings  give you the opportunity to find out more about the school and to meet with staff. You will also be able to size and order your child/rens uniform. View our School Shop page.

Taster Days

Your child/ren will be invited to our “Taster Days” which take place in June. The children are to attend on both days.

Children can travel to Springwood on the school bus on these days. Copies of the bus timetables can be obtained from the school. If you need any further information please let us know.

Children should arrive at school by 8.45am and the school day will end at 3.25pm. Both days will start in the MSFCH (behind reception). A packed lunch can be brought in or the children can buy lunch in our canteen. Please ensure they have money for this. Those children who are entitled to free school meals will be catered for in the usual way and can have a school meal or packed lunch with their daily allowance.

Children should wear their usual school uniform and bring their PE kit on both days.

The school will be open to parents in the evening in the Drama Studio (at the bottom of the school). This will give you another chance to meet senior members of staff, house staff and members of the Special Needs Department if you wish. Due to the large intake, we will be unable to accommodate children at this evening – so parents only please.  There are different times depending on the house your child is going into.

We hope that our Taster Days will prove to be as successful as those held here previously. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact the school.

For more information about our school please contact us and please take time to browse our website.
