Sixth Form Students start their UCAS applications.
Today Springwood Sixth Form students spent their Super Learning Day preparing for their First Choice Futures. The day started with a step by step guide through the UCAS process delivered by Rebekah who is an admissions tutor at UEA. Students then had the chance to work with their personal tutor to register and start drafting personal statements. During the day Springwood Sixth Formers also attended workshops led by professionals, ambassadors and past students about studying at degree level, student life and top tips for personal statement writing. We had over 33 visiting speakers who delivered workshops on subjects such as Politics, Medicine, Maths, Business, Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Creative Arts, Drama, English Literature and Youth Studies. A special thanks to the Chief Executive of Porvair, Ben Stocks who delivered an inspirational session to budding Engineers through the Speakers for Schools initiative. Additionally, Hannah from Oxford University delivered a personalised day for Medicine, Veterinary, Oxbridge and Law students on preparing for interviews, admissions tests and developing a competitive application. Students are now ready to start receiving offers from Universities! Good luck! Mrs Cuss, Assistant Director of Sixth Form.
