16-19 Bursary and Travel Grants
We understand that financial pressures can sometimes make it challenging for students to fully participate in their studies. The good news is that there is support available in the form of the 16-19 Bursary scheme.
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary is specifically designed to remove financial barriers that might prevent students from accessing their education. This includes support with:
- Transport costs
- Food and meals
- Essential equipment and materials
Types of Support Available
Vulnerable Student Bursary
This provides the highest level of support for students in the most challenging circumstances. Students are eligible for this bursary if they are:
- Currently, in care or are a care leaver;
- In receipt of Income Support;
- A disabled young person receiving both Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance.
Discretionary Bursary
We particularly welcome applications for the Discretionary Bursary from households where the total family income (adjusted for household size) falls below £20,500, though we encourage all families facing genuine financial difficulties to apply.
Free School Meals
Daily meal allowances for use in our school canteen and food outlets.
