At Springwood Sixth Form we understand the importance of the listening to the student voice, promoting student leadership, and empowering our students so that they can work in partnership with the Sixth Form Management Team to make they experience with us the best and most rewarding possible. This in part is achieved through our Sixth Form Student Council.
The council is formed of one representative from each Sixth Form Tutor Group, a Head Boy and Head Girl are assisted by staff members Mrs Moore and Mrs Howell. They meet once a week to discuss issues raised within their tutor groups, between themselves and where necessary with relevant staff members. A feedback session is then scheduled for the next day’s Tutor Time to allow each representative to keep the student body abreast of the developments and ideas the Sixth Form Student Council are actioning.
With the departure of the current Year 13, we are in the process of taking in nominations for Head Boy and Girl from the current Year 12. Candidates will pitch to the year group during assembly on 2nd July and votes will be cast in Tutor Time the next day.
