Careers

In our experience, a student who has a clear direction of travel is more motivated and therefore more likely to succeed. That is why we go to such great lengths to help you identify your goals, whether that is by providing opportunities to meet professionals from all walks of life; facilitating high-quality work experience, both locally and nationally; or by working in partnership with a range of external organisations.

Once you have identified your direction of travel, you will work with your Head of Year and your Progress Tutor to establish the best way to reach your goal, whether that be university, a higher or degree level apprenticeship, or employment.

All students are encouraged to apply to university as the preparation and application process provides invaluable experience for other types of applications. Specific support is offered to students in Year 13 who are pursuing an Apprenticeship - including workshops with local employers who are actively recruiting for apprenticeship vacancies.

Futures Assemblies and Workshops

Each year, the sixth form welcomes speakers - many of whom are former students - from a variety of career areas. These assemblies and workshops provide opportunities for students to find out about a broad range of career pathways and are vital in helping students to identify future options.

Careers Lectures

You are also encouraged to sign up for virtual talks delivered by a range of speakers from academia and the world of work. These can be accessed via a range of partner organisations including Speakers for Schools, The Norfolk Higher Aspirations Scheme, The Social Mobility Fund and InvestIn. The latest opportunities can be found on the Year 12 and Year 13 Google Classrooms.

Work Experience

In order to ensure that we are able to offer access to high-quality work experience, we work in partnership with businesses in the local community and companies with national and international profiles. We also encourage you to access high quality virtual work experience via UCAS, Springpod and Uptree.
