COMPULSORY TASK:
Ensure work is completed on the following from you ‘Career in the Arts’ unit:
- Use professional (tutor, mentor, industry specialist etc.) feedback and guidance to create a learning and skills development plan that contains the following:
- An assessment of current knowledge and skills.
- An overview of current aspirations and goals.
- An assessment of knowledge and skills required to attain the goals.
- A schedule for on-going review of progress towards goals.
- Write a letter to the artistic director: Clearly discuss in your letter what your goals are and how this course will help you in your career.
- Create a schedule that will review your on-going progress. This could be a SWOT analysis and SMART targets or relate to dance skills or strength. Think about:
- What skills you already have that you can improve on.
- What weaknesses you have and devise a way to improve these.
- List the things you don’t know, or styles you want to train in.
- Assess the potential for progress into two roles in the creative and performing arts industries, (relevant to their identified goals), evaluating their suitability for each role through an analysis of:
- Current skills and required skills for the role
- Accepted routes into the role
- Availability of the role
- Competition for the role
