PSHE

Our PSHE curriculum is designed to equip students with the practical life skills, financial literacy and emotional resilience required to safely navigate life beyond Sixth Form. The programme aligns with PSHE Association Core Themes and meets the Department for Education Statutory RSHE Guidance. It also actively promotes British Values - Democracy, the Rule of Law, Individual Liberty and Mutual Respect and Tolerance - by embedding them into real-world contexts e.g. hosting a hustings in the run up to local elections.

Theme 1: Health, Wellbeing & Resilience

  • Mental Health: Managing exam performance, identifying burnout and accessing services.
  • Independent Health: Managing physical work-life balance and understanding health screening
  • Risk Mitigation: Driver safety, understanding drug/alcohol dependencies, vaping risks and spiking awareness.

Theme 2: Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)

  • The Law & Consent: Understanding legal consent, identifying coercive control, and addressing harassment.
  • Sexual Health: Sexual health screening, choices in contraception and reproductive health.
  • Digital Awareness: Online safety and the legalities of digital sharing.
