COMPULSORY TASK:

  • Speaking : Prepare a 3-5 minute oral presentation (in Spanish) – you can do this with visual aids/on PowerPoint /using images. The topic must be either : Las fiestas - A Hispanic festival you have researched or La música – Music (or dance) in a Spanish-speaking country.
     
  • Writing : Film Review in Spanish Watch a Spanish film (or more than one!) with English subtitles. Some suggestions are listed below, but you may choose any film.

    Write a short summary of the storyline in Spanish. Describe the setting / scenery, comment on the actors, describe particular scenes or incidents (good or bad) and give your own opinions.

    • Mar Adentro (2004, Alejandro Amenábar)

    • El laberinto del fauno (2006, Guillermo del Toro)

    • Mujeres abordo de un ataque de nervios (1988, Pedro Almodóvar)

    • La lengua de las mariposas (1999, José Luis Cuerda)
      ..…or any Spanish film of your choice.

  • Grammar : Read and complete exercises 1a, 1b, 2, 3, 19a, 19b and 19c as a minimum in the Grammar Booklet.

OPTIONAL EXTENSION:

Use a range of websites to keep on top of your Spanish revision and use any opportunity you have to read in Spanish or watch French films and TV programmes.

  • Duolingo - An app for language-learning
  • Conjuguemos - Practise conjugating Spanish verbs.
  • Languagesonline - Has lots of grammar activities 
  • www.rtve.es - This contains news articles, video clips, documentaries and TV programmes in Spanish. 
  • Lyricstraining - A fun way to learn Spanish vocabulary by listening to song lyrics.
