End of Term Arrangements

December 2021

We are now just two weeks away from the end of this term and they are looking very busy.  I would like to let you know of some of the events we have planned.

We are, once again, asking for donations of food items to take to The Purfleet Trust.  This is a local charity, based in King's Lynn, who look after and provide support for homeless people in our community.  Attached is a letter with further details and a list of recommended items.

We are also holding a raffle to raise funds for the same charity.  We will be selling tickets throughout the next two weeks and the draw will take place on the last day of term.  Tickets will be available to purchase through Parent Pay or cash purchases in school via students.  Prizes include a £40 voucher generously donated by Pizza Express!

Fingers crossed, our two Christmas concerts will be taking place in the final week of this term.  For details of these events and tickets, please go to:  https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/springwood-high-school-music-department

Friday 17th December is the last day of term and we will be finishing an hour earlier than usual, at 2.25pm.  It is also the day for us all to wear our Christmas jumpers for Save the Children's CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY.  This is not a non-uniform day - students in Years 7 to 11 can replace their school jumper and blazer with a Christmas jumper; sixth form students must still wear their lanyards.  A link for donations will be available on Parent Pay.

The new term starts on Wednesday, 5th January, for students.  We have been asked, once again, to carry out Covid testing on site before students return to the classroom.  This will be done on Tuesday, 4th January, and further details regarding booking, etc. will be shared with you before the end of term.

In the new year, Mr Thompson, Assistant Headteacher and Chair of the PTFA, will be seeking new parents to join the PTFA so please look out for opportunities to get involved.
