Face Coverings from 17th May 2021

As from Monday 17th May, rules regarding the wearing of face coverings will change

Parents and Guardians

The government announced earlier this week that as from Monday 17th May, rules regarding the wearing of face coverings will change.

At Springwood High School, students and staff, unless exempt, will still be required to wear face coverings in corridors as these are areas where bubbles frequently mix and social distancing is not possible.

Students and staff will no longer be required to wear face coverings in the classroom, however, your child can continue to wear them if they wish.

All other measures remain in place, including one-way systems and current break and lunchtime arrangements.

If your child travels to school using a public or school bus, or taxi, or other form of public transport, they MUST still wear face coverings.

If we have an increase in Covid-19 cases at Springwood we may reinstate face coverings in classrooms for a limited time, in line with the new government guidance, as this will help reduce the spread of any secondary infection. Should this become necessary we will notify you as soon as possible.

On a separate note please remind your child that they should not be accessing, handling or using their phone between 8:45am and the end of school.  If this occurs then the phone will be confiscated, and you will be required to collect it from the reception after 3:30pm.  The phone will also be confiscated if it is obvious that they have made a call, or sent a text message, home or to someone else during the school day.  If you or your child need to make contact during the school day this must be via the year office.
