Virutal Choir perform 'When The Lights Go On Again'

A unique collaboration of young singers across Norfolk singing together in lockdown. 

The virtual choir of young students from 30 schools across the county were bought together to sing one of the great wartime songs to  commemorate  the 75th anniversary of VE day on May 8th 2020. 

'When the lights go on again ' was originally written by Bennie Benjamin, Sol Marcus and Eddie Seiler and recorded and sung by Vaughn Wilton Monroe and his Orchestra during the 1940's

The Head of Music at Springwood High School, Peter Strudwick, has put this together with his choir director, Sam Ashby, providing the accompaniment. 

Many of the students that performed in the piece are the children of keyworkers who are at school during the pandemic so that their parents can remain at work on the frontline.

The 30 schools recorded their audio videos remotely, abiding by the social distancing rule, and sent them to Peter. This is the result:
