Open Evenings 2017

Open Evenings 2017

Open Evening

Thursday 12th October 2017

Internal Students - 6pm

External Students - 7pm

We are a highly aspiring Sixth Form of approximately 400 students.  In 2017, we attained 74% A*-C grades; this is above other providers in the area.  We also scored 46% A*-B and a 99% pass rate at A Level.  As impressive as these results are, at Springwood we actually focus more on life after Sixth Form.  These results meant that 83% of our leavers secured a place at university with many of the rest getting Degree Apprenticeships with companies including Coca Cola, Nestle and British Sugar.  We are very keen to support local businesses and have weekly ‘workshops’ with firms in the surrounding area.  This meant that some of our 2017 cohort are now employed in the King’s Lynn area and contributing positively to our local economy.

We recognise that A Levels are about more than lessons.  Our enrichment and volunteering scheme is established and students complete voluntary work following our ‘Volunteering Fair’.  We have the EPQ (with 85% of students getting A*-A), Duke of Edinburgh Gold and many other enrichment opportunities open to students.

The students themselves play an important part in Sixth Form life.  We have a thriving student council that organise celebratory events for the other students.  These range from the Sixth Form Prom to Sixth Form Bake Offs and are always enjoyed by students and staff!

Our Sixth Form is aspirational and challenging but supportive too.  We use many school mechanisms, such as reports and support plans, to help our students achieve their aspirational and challenging targets and, as you can see by the results, they nearly always do!

I hope you will join us at our open evening on 12th October, to see our outstanding facilities for yourself!
