On Thursday 7th January our Sixth Form held their Year 13 Presentation Evening and the speaker for the evening was Aimee Louise Paddock, a previous pupil at the school, who, although suffering from a severe hearing impediment, is now training to be a Music teacher.

Miss Aimee Louise Paddock pictured  beside the Head Teacher, Andy Johnson, gave an inspirational talk to Springwood Sixth Form 2015 leavers. Class of 2015 achieved an outstanding 18% A*-A and 48% A*-B, with 27 students being named Norfolk Scholars. Additionally, Springwood Sixth Form, for the first time, presented 14 students with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh award, the highest amount of awards completed locally. The students will formally receive their certificates later on in the year at St James Palace. Mrs Cuss (Assistant Director of Sixth Form) said “it was great to have the year group together again and find out about their university, apprenticeship or employment situations.  Our students should be so proud of themselves; they have certainly made the school proud.”

Some students received special prizes and subject prizes; amongst the prize winners were Sam Sanders, George Sabourin, Kara Hind, Georgia Edgley and Alice Bliss. There were over 35 awards generously sponsored by The Rotary Club, Bespak, Clanpress, Arterton’s, Sibelco, Stephenson Smart, Clock Pharmacy, FW Hendry and Wolfy's Video & Photography.
