Fashion Show held at Springwood High School on Wednesday 13th July.

Springwood High School held its annual Sixth Form Fashion Show on Wednesday 13th July, showcasing the designs and creations of the Year 12 and Year 13 BTEC Fashion and Clothing students.  The BTEC Fashion & Clothing Diploma is an exciting and creative course at Springwood High School where, over a two year period, the students learn to design and make clothes.

The show featured a catwalk models recruited from students in all years. A massive range of clothes were modelled on the catwalk, along with accessories such as embroidered handbags and elegant hand sewn evening gloves.  There were many clothes collections inspired by famous fashion designers, retro vibe style skirts, elegant evening dresses and many more garments.

The show was full of glitz and glamour, kicking off with live music from Year 13 students Georgia Dawson, Izzy Franklin and Charlie Bernardin, who together won the 2016 School Talent Show. Over fifty girls from all year groups took to the catwalk to model the Fashion students’ creations.  All of the models and designers worked in a professional manner and the event was an enormous success!

The show was watched by an audience including Headmaster Mr Johnson, Springwood High School staff, students, family members and friends, and King’s Lynn Deputy Mayor and Councillor Mrs Carol Bower popped along to support the show.

BTEC Fashion & Clothing Course Leader Emma Markwell said “I am overwhelmed with how well the show went and I am very proud of the Fashion students’ hard work and effort.  It was amazing seeing all of the students creations come to life at the fashion show!  I would like to thank the models and everyone involved in the show, and all those who supported the event.”

The Fashion Show Photographer (Sixth Form Photography student Joe Ilson) did an amazing job keeping up with the catwalk models and took some very professional photographs.
